I just wrote a long comment to all and it disappeared. Meh. I need more coffee.

Thanks everyone for your support and wisdom. I'll let you know if I have anything I'm willing to expose to more capable and experienced artists. It's keeping me off the streets.

The upcoming topic in the art class is collage. I'm trying to get enthused. There are a lot of options to combine collage over top of other media that seem possibly interesting.

See a milanote board I created for this purpose:

It's a lot like the way my wife always addressed my photography. Part of the art of photography (as you are well aware of Fred) is the arrival at a final image you're proud of. Any adjustments you make to get to the image you "saw" in your mind are just tools to bring your vision to life.

But my wife always said it wasn't a "real" photo because it wasn't what came out of the camera "raw". Even though before I snapped the shot I had already manipulated the mechanics of the camera to get as close as I could to what I saw in my mind. And once the image was snapped I then used my skills with the software to enhance the image even closer to the ideal I had seen as I viewed the scene.

So my vote is use the tools you need to achieve the results you want. I will vote for being honest if anyone cares to ask. If they don't ask just let them enjoy the art.
