I hope you will tell us more about your visit to Goose Creek. Is the house still occupied? Has the area been spared from the spread of new housing developments? The area near Blacksburg has seen more housing developments as Virginia Tech expands.
So glad you made the trip. Sometimes we just have to revisit our past lives even though the results may or may not live up to our memories or expectations.
I'm so sorry I did not know you were coming. It would have been a blessed thing to see you again. I left here for a time, but always knew I would return for good, and all of that time, your words kept me anchored to my home in these mountains. For that I am forever grateful to you. We send all love from here. Peace and blessings, dearest Fred <3
So very glad that you made it back and enjoyed visiting friends and familiar places.
Many, many years ago, when I chose the life of moving and moving again, that first trip home made my heart ache and I cried when I returned to my new nest. After numerous moves and new nests, when I visited home for holidays and funerals, my heart no longer ached. I would give a sigh of relief when I returned to my newest nest. This place will be my home for another good while, but in my heart I know it is just a stopping place to maybe a ‘less choice’ place to settle…..but still…a new place to explore!
You sound like you have found that level of peace after all of the internal rustling of discontent and frustration. It’s such a relief to find that peace. You certainly have weathered this difficult journey well and no one else can truly know the struggles and frustrations. It is good to hear the old voice of Fred starting to peek through these trials.
