I enjoyed your writings from Goose Creek and was sad to see you leave.

Who is the artist of the painting with man and dog in front of house. The painting is signed, but I cannot make it out. Reminds me of Grandma Moses.

from AI, a poem in tribute to Grandma Moses:

In fields where golden sunlight gently falls, And autumn leaves in vibrant hues do dance, A humble brush in aged hands recalls The simple joys of life, a timeless trance.

With every stroke, a story comes to life, Of rural scenes and days of yesteryear. Her canvas sings of peace, devoid of strife, A world where nature’s beauty is so clear.

Grandma Moses, with wisdom in her gaze, Captured the essence of a bygone time. Her art, a window to those cherished days, Preserved in colors, pure and so sublime.

Though years have passed, her legacy remains, A testament to dreams that never fade. In every painting, love and hope sustains, A tribute to the life she so portrayed.

So let us honor her with heartfelt praise, For in her art, we find a world anew. Grandma Moses, through her gentle ways, Reminds us of the beauty we once knew.

It's official: we're two Virginia expats living in Columbia. Two very different parts of Virginia, and two different Columbias, admittedly, but we're both coming from places that we connected deeply with as home. Peace. May you find clarity, new purpose, and rich memories in your new space.
