Warning, dear Subscribers and accidental tourists: I made a pledge to you (well, mostly to ME) that I would post every Thursday for three months. This will be post #3 under that resolution. And I apologize, kinda.
On top of being *OBE (by family overnights, family doctor’s visits, doors blowing off our outbuilding), as the last nail in this week’s coffin, my 8 year old iMac gave up the ghost on Feb 23, so that I am typing with my elbows on a tiny laptop.
Consequently this week, I will not be posting about biochar; or beech leaf disease; or tardigrades in space or the increasingly dire situation with permafrost. Those will have to wait.
Instead, I will have to play the cards I have in my hand: From a response to a friend in ATL who teaches English Lit etc at a private high school there— a page of recommendations or serving suggestions for her students.
She asked me for recommendations for apps and services her students could adopt in their online “research.” So today, enjoy (or not) the “Apps & Services” page I cobbled.
Who knows: there might be a nugget or two here that will change your relationship, through more efficient use of the keyboard, to your computer and more efficient access to your stored memories, ideas and info.
And if not, I stayed true to my promise of a Thursday post, just not with the chops it would take to do the intended diggin, other than to offer this techie list, likely of very faint interest to many of you. The new iMac will apparently be delivered TODAY!

OBE: Overcome By Events. I think it is miltary-industrial for “the dog ate my homework.”
