I am so glad you took your mom out of assisted-living. I got to move out at the end of February, just before the lockdown. I feel so badly for my former neighbors. Life has been super grim for them in an institution with all the safety protocols.

We are fortunate to be close by, capable, willing and able with the space we have to create a reasonable living arrangement for mom. It's not anyone's ideal, but certainly far better a choice than her riding out the pestilence trapped in her room locked down inside one building for months on end.

Mom's place is in room lockdown--for who knows how long. Some residents are disoriented in the best of conditions, have no TV or digital connections to the world, and can't have sitters, go to doctor visits, do their own laundry or have family visits. We couldn't sit idle and let mom endure that--and then get Covid19--and sleep at night. So far, on day 4 our of xx? we are getting along rather well. I'll report again when the days get longer and give a report of survivors.
