Thank you so much for this post. I used to draw delicate mandala-like designs. When someone called them doodles, I was so hurt that I stopped drawing. I belong to Skillshare, so I have just signed up for three doodle classes.
I find in the digital age I only doodle when I use the Apple Pencil on iPad. This is something I should pursue, now that I think about it. The tool of choice for me is ProCreate--an amazing package of inking and drawing tools even a retired physical therapist can operate--if only barely.
Let's hear it for doodlers!
from AI:
The Joy of Doodling
A pen in hand, a blank sheet of paper,
A world of possibilities, a mind at ease.
A simple line, a curve, a taper,
A world of wonder, a mind to please.
A doodle here, a doodle there,
A world of art, a mind to share.
A sketch of life, a sketch of love,
A world of beauty, a mind above.
A moment of peace, a moment of calm,
A world of dreams, a mind to balm.
A stroke of genius, a stroke of fate,
A world of hope, a mind to create.
A doodle is more than just a simple line,
It's a world of wonder, a world divine.
So take a pen, take a sheet of paper,
And let your mind, your soul, your heart, create her.
Dunnundastan? Fred, you crack me up! I was a full-time doodler in school!
What a delightful entry, Fred! I haven’t doodled since elementary school.
