I live near Warm Heath and know many people who have moved there and enjoy the experience. I don't know why similar arrangements have not been copied in other communities.

They seem expensive and ARE costly, but those figures need to be considered against expenses of a la carte total costs for transportation, meals, and the long list of hourly or by-the-mile daily assistance that can be required over a period of years. Living where those pieces are even available at any price gives a city-dweller options we do not have in such a small and rural community. Surely there will be options in place for the next wave of need for elder health and housing. Churches and families used to provide these end-of-life needs. Hello Fred. Another good column. I’ve arrived at the same conclusion, a CCRC is the best choice but it’s not easy to find the right one. I’m thinking it’s time I visited Warm Hearth again. I’m currently with my younger daughter and family in Georgia, so I’ll sign off for now and will have a longer and hopefully better thought out comment on your column after I return home in a couple days.
