The New River area has seen a sudden bloom, with everything coming out at once after a long cold spell that suppressed the blooming plants. The outdoors is beautiful, but the accompanying pollen has made this one of the worst allergy seasons in years.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. Looking forward to seeing more.

Ode to the Ephemeral Blossoms of the Appalachians

O dearest whisper of spring, burst forth in tender hues— your fragile petals, ephemeral dreams, awaken the ancient Appalachian muse.

In the high, mist-wreathed hollows, where rugged mountains cradle age-old lore, your fleeting bloom declares a quiet hymn, a transient beauty none can ignore.

Amid mossy stones and winding streams, you unfurl like a delicate sigh, a ballet of color in the wild shadows, an evanescent dance beneath the open sky.

O transient wonder of nature's art, each blossom a fleeting note in time, reminding us that life, though brief, holds a glory that transcends the climb.

As the cool breeze carries your soft lament, and the dawn crowns you with silvery light, we marvel at your brave, brief existence— a spark of life, burning ever so bright.

So let us cherish your delicate grace, in every petal a promise renewed; for even in your brief, ephemeral bloom, the soul of the Appalachians is lovingly imbued.

Are the wildflower photos from your new trail or from Goose Creek? In any case, they are lovely and I enjoyed the other nature photos very much also. Thanks Fred! Please send photos with every post. Your words and your photos are both beautiful and gratefully received.
