It will be windy, but warmer, I said. And the synapses reverberated somehow into the musical recesses of the gray matter, and at once, I was humming the sassy tune of a song I didn’t know I remembered.
But then, the year for this tune’s arrival was 1962. I had just paid $15 for my first (pawn shop) guitar. And Chet Atkins was in his prime. This version of the catchy rhythm is performed by Tommy Emmanuel. Enjoy. It’s okay to tap your feet, but if you Air Guitar, we’ll find out.
I think I got the first three bars, maybe. I moved quickly to a classical guitar, could not keep the calluses on my fingers between sessions with steel strings. I tried again a few years ago, but that guitar sits unloved under the bed. Sigh. In my next life, there will be much more music!
Yay! There is now a big button to tap in order to leave a comment or a like. Did you learn how to play that wonderful tune? It is so bluesy and yet upbeat.
Tommy Emmanuel may be our greatest guitar player. The former Chair of the CPSC, Hal Stratton, who also played guitar, is a personal friend of Emmanuel's. I worked with Hal and got to see two Emmanuel concerts and meet him twice. What fabulous experiences and what an honor to meet him!
