We are (perhaps) on the cusp of a return to the status quo prior to Covid and its smothering impact on the planet. We have an opportunity—after this wakeup call—to enter into a new understanding of public health, science literacy, economic relationship and more, even including a new look at humanity’s place in time and space.
We need a Bigger Picture longer-view perspective. Thinking in Deep Time seems like one of those mental lenses that will help in this regard, so that high school history includes cosmology, the history of science, the future impact of technologies—unSILOED and cross-discipline.
Focusing on trends and processes to predict markets and maximize profits has worked against us.
Focusing on analogy and metaphor here, I think, suggest we need to strive for wisdom more than knowledge, understanding relationships, nurture the whole rather than dissecting the parts.
What are your thoughts in the Teachable Moment? What should we do different, so as to NOT return to Business as Usual when-if we arrive on the other side of Covid19?
