AGING IN PLACE: it is the goal of many boomers, the ideal life setting for more than a few of our friends here in Floyd, Virginia.
But I’ve been thinking what that would be like, over the several years that living-in-place might span. Ideally, each of us is living in age-appropriate housing, with some kind of in-home assistance, the level of that aid increasing as our abilities decline.
But we will see less and less of our variously-siloed friends, and I’ve kicked that can down the road a bit back over at Fragments from Floyd—my long established, then long-disupted-by-hackers weblog. I think I will be writing there more, and using Substack in a more peripheral way, going forward. Not sure how long forward extends, in the age of BUYING NO GREEN BANANAS.
CLUE: there is still unfixed weirdness on the blog that escaped a universal “find and replace” for odd characters; and the images for posts generally don’t appear as a thumbnail for older posts.
Even so I invite you to visit that short post at the link below. And while you’re amongst the fragments, put something in the FIND FRAGMENTS search panel, and see where it takes you. Or leave a comment to let me know you found my Commonplace Book and stayed long enough to say HELLO.
