Living in an apartment in an urban area is working well for me at 80 years of age. My health is still excellent, I can still drive, I foster rescue dogs, do gardening in public gardens, and do lots of travel and socializing. I am confident that I will have to do less and less during this decade, but it still looks like a good future.
I am hopeful -- if we can make this move next fall. It is getting harder to get things done as things fall apart. But yes, I can imagine meaningful and purposeful years not lived among our current friends and familiar mountains. Glad you have settled in more or less comfortably.
