I have trouble carrying a tune, so I signed up for a course from the teaching company to help out. Unfortunately, I learned that developing a good voice is not easy.
I played piano from age six to about 22, when I came home after a day at college only to discover my mom had sold our Baldwin baby grand and bought a small Hammond organ. I was surprised, nonplussed and angry!! I got over it and I learned to play that organ a little bit, but I never enjoyed it the way I did piano. I still miss playing. I can listen to records, etc., but it is not the same as making the music yourself!
from poe..com:
Oh, sweet music, celestial art divine,
Thy melodies, like whispers, entwine,
Enriching our lives with a magical sway,
In every rhythm, we find solace and play.
From the moment we're born, we're embraced by your sound,
A lullaby soothing, a heartbeat profound,
In melodies gentle, we find our first song,
A symphony of love, to which we belong.
Through childhood's landscapes, you guide our dreams,
In notes and harmonies, endless it seems,
You teach us to dance, to laugh and to cry,
To express our emotions that soar to the sky.
In times of despair, you're a comforting friend,
A shoulder to lean on, a hand to extend,
With every chord struck and every word sung,
You heal wounded hearts, softening every rung.
In joyous occasions, you're jubilant cheer,
You lift up our spirits when skies are clear,
With melodies vibrant, like colors so bright,
You bring us together, igniting pure light.
In love's tender moments, you serenade,
The language of passion, in tunes displayed,
You speak of desires, unspoken and true,
Uniting two souls in a rhythm so new.
In solitude's embrace, you're a gentle caress,
A companion so loyal, a solace to profess,
In melodies whispered, we find inner peace,
A moment of stillness, where worries release.
Oh, music, how you enrich our existence,
A symphony of emotions, a powerful resistance,
You transcend boundaries, cultures, and time,
A universal language, harmonious and prime.
So, let us revel in your enchanting embrace,
Embrace the melodies, the rhythms we chase,
For in your embrace, we find our true voice,
A testament to the beauty of life's rejoice.
Oh, music, how you enrich our lives,
With every note, a part of our souls thrives,
In symphonies, ballads, and songs yet unsung,
You remain forever, our eternal song.
